Director of Health & Fitness
Brent D’Amelio, Director of Health & Fitness, was born in Orlando and raised in West Palm Beach. He’s a Floridian through and through. He attended Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, Florida and was awarded a football scholarship to Bethel University as an Inside Linebacker where they won two conference championships back to back. After his football career was over, he decided to move back home and complete his degree in Exercise Science & Health Promotion at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. He’s been employed at privately owned Sports Performance and Wellness Facilities in his professional career. He looks forward to taking Willoughby Golf Club to the next level of Health & Fitness.
Our state-of-the-art Fitness Center is a standalone building in the area between the cart barn and the lake. The building is 4800 square feet under air and offers stretching, free weights, cardio and Cybex sectorized machines in addition to an 870 square foot studio for group fitness classes.
REHABILITATION AND PHYSICAL THERAPY
Physical Therapy and lab services are provided by Martin Health Systems.
Functional Training for Golf & Tennis
The Club also provides functional training for both golf and tennis. Gerry Knebels, Director of Golf has completed the training course through Titleist Performance Institute and Dan Stover, Director of Tennis will work closely with Brent D’Amelio, Director of Health & Fitness to prove proper instruction to improve golf & tennis performance.
The studio space is available for group classes. Members will have the opportunity to participate in classes taught our Certified Group Fitness Specialists. Classes offered may include but not limited to: yoga, tai-chi, golf & tennis fitness, dance and body sculpting. Water aerobics is available at the pool.
